After the Grand Opening Celebration on July 9 where the Austrians provided a stunning musical welcome for the visiting choir, July 10 was the first round of qualifying and concerts by choirs from all over the world.

The Grand Opening Ceremony with a Musical Celebration Provided by the City of Graz
July 10 was the day for qualification by the children and youth representing the best of choral art from their respective countries. On the evening schedule were to outstanding Gala Concerts presented by choirs invited just for the occasion. I attended the Gala Concert where the participants were from Germany, South Africa and the United States. What an experience this was! The singing was amazing and the musical selections represented some of the best choral music I have heard in many years! Soon I will post photos and program comments.
