Your Voice - Your Birthright - Preaching to the Choir

What is the very most important thing that I can say about your voice and about singing? Perhaps it is that, your voice is your birthright. Voice is the primary way that we relay information to others. As we speak, however, only a small percentage of what we actually “say” is in our words. There are worlds of meaning and expression contained in the actual sound of our voices – its pitch, timbre, speed, volume, variety and how it originates in our bodies.

As babies we all have… Continue

Drove to the park one night.

And, he quickly killed the lights.

Said: “Walk with me awhile.”

Gorgeous lover lost her smile.

She begged him: “Take me home.”

But, he rushed out all alone.

“Love, I must get one thing.”

And, he came back with a ring.

Alleluia.… Continue

Comments on "La Stella Baroque" concert

Mike and I really enjoyed your concert yesterday. The period music was great, and I may be inspired to play my flute since I really liked the recorder music. Your solo was beautiful! It was a thrill for me to hear you sing a whole piece, rather than short phrases in a music lesson. You looked as though you were enjoying yourself, and I remember your telling me that enjoying the music is very important, if not the most important thing. If, eventually, I can perform even a fraction as well as you… Continue

Review of Brahms Reqiuem performed by Portland Symphonic Choir

Review: Portland Symphonic Choir offers grace in a time of need

By David Stabler, The Oregonian

November 16, 2009, 9:35AM

There was no overt reason the Portland Symphonic Choir should perform the Brahms Requiem Sunday at Schnitzer Hall. No immediate need or precipitating event. We usually hear the great requiems during the season of Lent, that period of mourning leading up to Easter.

But as the consoling music of Johannes Brahms' "German Requiem" spilled over our… Continue

At a party late one night

Saw this vixen smile at me

She said come up to my room

If there’s more you’d like to see

Something told me not to

Lust said it had to be

She pulled me into her room

Used a key to lock the door

Started kissing on my neck

Took off all the clothes I wore

When… Continue
