Greetings to you both from the City of Smiles here in the Philippines! I pray this letter finds you all well specially the kids.
Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! What a small world, isn't it? I know you already heard from John Joel M. Escalona which so happened to be one of our Choir Directors here at Mansilingan First Baptist Church. I already heard about the Singer Link before from John Joel. And was never been so interested signing up howerver, when he told me about being able to contact you last Saturday, I was so excited and never hesitated to sign up. So here I am writing you right now... Actually, I had Suzanne's e-mail add before I left Singapore in 2001 but unfortunately, I had not been so accessible with Internet by that time and when I dropped a note at her address, I can't get into it anymore. Anyways, I thank the Lord for paving the way to connect with you and your family again...
Yes, I keep telling John about our Choir at IBC and most specially about your direction. You may not know it Tom, but God used you and Suzanne's life of having a great influence in my stay at IBC. We may not have the precious time to get connected that much but God knows that you have impacted my discipline as a Choir Member and Suzanne as a Bible Study Facilitator. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING. I ALWAYS THANK THE LORD UPON EVERY REMEMBRANCE OF YOU.
Well, for sure you kinda know somehow of how I had been doing here in the Philippines from Ate Nora. I had been a full-time Worker since I came home for good in 2001. Been a Youth Coordinatorr for 4 years and beng involved in the Children's Ministry for 3 & 1/2 years now. God is truly indeed, the God of all details of my life. His plan for my stay in Singapore specially at IBC was His way of preparing for His purpose for me in His vineyard. Everything that I had learned from IBC both from English and Filipino Congregations.... adjusting to people from different places, diversified personlities and people from all walks of life, Youths Mission Trips, Women's Bible Studies, Children's Ministries (VBS, SUNDAY SCHOOL & A.W.A.N.A.) and most specially the Choir had been instrumentals to what God had entrusted to me here at our church. Thank you both for being a channel of God's Intruments. It has been almost a decade now since the last time I saw you all but you were never been forgotten. You all keep a special place right in my heart...CONTINUE IN THE LORD FOR YOUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN IN HIM... I Cor. 15:58 &
Gal. 6:9... KEEP MOVING FORWARD TOM.. SUZANNE...and CONTINUE TOUCHING LIVES... FOR GOD'S GLORY..
By the way, I met Julianna Bing twice during our Pampanga and Vigan Mission Trips and Pastor Rey every year, yes, by God's grace, even if I am already here in the Philippines yet God still give me the opportunity to be with the Mission Team of IBC-Filipino Congregation for the past 12 years now. How I pray to come and visit Singapore again... someday. May I ask if you happened to be keeping in touch with Dr.David Lee Packer and Ma'am Lana? or even Woody and family? May I have their e-mail adds too. Thank you...
I guess I already talked so much. I better sign off then... God bless the Ministry that God had entrusted you Tom and Suzanne. Please give my hugs and kisses to Rebecca and her siblings.... Hey Becky, I know you are have grown so Beautfiully... Keep on in the Lord too..
By the way Tom and Suzanne, as John Joel had mentioned that our church is now celebrating her 40th Anniversary on April 22-26 and this is just an out of the blue thing thought... you see our church is preparing for a Souvenir program and asking Friends and Families to subscribe to it...actually the IBC-Fil Congregation subscribed for the Inside cover... well, anyway, please don't get me wrong about this, maybe you will just be interested... 1/4 size for USS15.00: 1/2 for USS 25.00 & 1 whole for USS50.00.send pictures you want to post as well as text to write on... Just a thought and please ignore if you are not interested... But of course, we would love to hear from you and your Choir too...
Very Sincerely,
Christine Belle O. Pastor

A follow-up mail...Sir, I've told Ate Christine about our acquaintance here at the singer link and she wants to send her love and regards to all of you there, to your wife Suzanne and to your daughter Rebbecca.
By the way, Sir, I forgot to tell you that I am not a Music graduate and never been in a music school. But I do have my musical training at church with the choir and I joined the College Chorale when I was in College at the University of St. La Salle here in Philippine and I'm proud to say that we are one of the Best Choir here in Philippines.
It is still my earnest and deepest desire then to study Church music in a college of music, But my parents wont allow and do not have money to provide and there are no colleges here in Philippines the offers the course. I am still praying that the Lord would realize and complete all of these desires. Because, It is my prayer that I will be more equip for the music ministry He has entrusted to me and To have a sense of fulfillment deep inside my heart.
Please help me pray.... God Bless your heart!
Cheers,
JOHN
Hope all is well with you....
Praise God and It's nice to hear from you... Wow! small world!
Yeah, I am her choir Director... and she always loves to share some stories about her experiences with you as their choir director.
The name of our church is Mansilingan First Baptist Church we are just a small church we have 250 members in the congregation and we have 30-50 people in the choir. We are singing SATB in the choir and we do like to sing contemporaryclassic anthems and musical like that of Tom Fettke, D. Clydesdale, Gary Rhodes, Sterling, Kirkland, Williamson, R. Kingsmore, Mark Hayes and many more.
Actually right now we are preparing for our 40th year anniversary which will be on the 26th of April 2009. Our pastor wants the celebration to be more grand and successful. so, we, in the choir is preparing for the a musical concert and we are using the worship musical SANCTUARY by Randy Vader & Jay Rouse from PraiseGathering.
There's lack of choral music resources here like anthems, songbooks, cantata , accompaniments trax here in Philippines that's why we keep on using old resources here. Maybe, you have old and used songbooks and accompaniments or choral materials that you do not need anymore....that might be a blessing for us here to be used by the music ministry of our church.
I forgot to tell you that I am also joining a Christian singing group here. we are called HIS VOICE evangelistic singing ministries. we travel around the province and around manila to preach the word. and we are also supporting missionary pastors around the area.
The groups is struggling right now due to lack of financial assistance, and some members that has lack of commitment to the ministry... but we are still going on despite of all these. We do have 4 sopranos, 4 altos, 4 tenors and 2 Basses. I am one of the bass singer (BARITONE) and we are still looking another 2 Bass singers to help us. Some of the members are still in school some are working professionals.
I am not a full time church choir director I just love to sing and direct a choir yeah... it is my passion...I could say I am so perfectionist when to comes to vocal qualities, projection, diction, note reading and etc...but I am not a good singer like you guys. I am not a music graduate... but still praying that someday I can attend a music conservatory and study church music or whatever....
Actually, our singing group His Voice was planning to go the IBC-Singapore this summer thru the help of the Filipino Congregation under Ptr. Rey Navarro, you know to raise funds for the ministry here in Philippines. But, unfortunately the church just 3 days to accommodate us to stay so we back off with the plan... but we are still praying where the Lord leads. actually we gave Ptr. Rey our CD recordings for some preview of our group. and also it's hard for us to raise funds for our fare. But we are still praying for it.... Maybe you can help us with the English congregation hahahahhhahahha... I'm just kidding Sir.
If you want to hear our groups recording. I post some of our song here on thesingerlink just click it on my page. and also we gave Ptr. Rey 30 copies of this you can ask one of there's available.
God Bless you heart Sir Tom.... Thank you for responding!
Blessings!
JOHN
