SINGERS WANTED!
NASHVILLE SINGERS is looking for basses, baritones and tenors for Music City's newest men's chorus. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 7:00 to 9:00P.M., at the Harborview at Cheswicke community clubhouse, 3450 Harborwood Circle, Nashville, Tennessee 37214. This select vocal ensemble is an auditioned men's chorus which will ultimately perform music of various genres within our community and beyond. OUR MISSION: The mission of Nashville Singers is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift our audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. OUR VISION: The ultimate aim of the Nashville Singers will be to achieve a position as a recognized, respected, multicultural musical organization, dedicated to making vocal harmony a more integral part of the Greater Nashville cultural scene. If you are a SINGER, we would love for you to consider becoming a future member of our family. Your attendance will not obligate you in any way. All of the materials you need will be provided at the meeting. So good to hear from you and wish you all the best as you continue to grow your choral group! Florence is located about an hour from Columbia heading towards Myrtle Beach. If you are travelling on I-95 South headed to Hilton Head, we are at the intersection of I-20 and I-95. It would be fun to meet you for a few minutes if you could stop in Florence for a meal or something. My cell phone is 843-206-5146 and my office number at the university is 843-551-4659. BTW - our group will be in concert May 14 & 16 and we will feature a medley from Phantom of the Opera, the beautiful The Awakening, Randall Thompson's Alleluia, etc. Guest baritone Dr. Theodore Sipes from Virginia Tech will be singing the Phantom role. We're very excited!
BTW - Our city, along with Francis Marion University, is building a Performing Arts Center in downtown Florence. It should be finished by 2010 and I've already started talking with conductors along the eastern seaboard to see if there would be enough interest in coming together and having an all male choral workshop and concert in a couple of years. I would like my organization to host this wonderful event. Do you have any interest? If so, would you help make up my team of organizers and advisors for the event? Let me know.
