LOS ANGELES CHILDREN’S CHORUS APPOINTS LARISSA DONNELLY APPRENTICE CHOIR DIRECTOR

Larissa Donnelly has been appointed director of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) Apprentice Choir, it was announced by LACC Artistic Director Anne Tomlinson.  Donnelly will oversee all aspects of the Apprentice Choir, geared for young singers with little or no previous vocal training, including selecting appropriate repertoire to match the singers’ skill level and conducting rehearsals and concerts. She replaces Amy Brehm, who relocated to the East Coast.

Terry Knowles, long-time executive director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC), has been promoted to President and CEO of the world-renowned chorus effective immediately, announced LAMC Chairman Mark Foster. Terry has served as executive director since 2000.  The Los Angeles Master Chorale is a resident company of the Music Center and is the resident chorus at Walt Disney Concert Hall.  It is one of only a handful of professional choirs in the country.

DEBORAH BERMAN APPOINTED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LOS ANGELES CHILDREN’S CHORUS

Deborah Berman, a highly regarded veteran arts administrator with extensive experience on both coasts, has been appointed Executive Director of Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) following a nationwide search, it was announced by LACC Board Chair David Scheidemantle.  Ms. Berman has been serving as Interim Executive Director since December 1, 2010, and assumes her new post effective immediately.
