Great information about you. Thanks for sharing. I graduated from FMU with a BS in Sociology (1976). Glad to hear you're an alum. I've just been asked by Dr. Carter to take over as Director of Alumni Affairs. Maybe you could serve on the board in the near future! Also, for my Florence Men's Choral Society, I'm looking to add more board members. Would you be interested? Currently, the FMCS board meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday, but we will probably go to once a quarter. And, the Alumni Association Board was just chosen for the new year, so it will be this time next year to put your name in the mix for 2010. Don't let me forget if you're interested.

Hi Ann, yes I do know you, after all! I'm fried from trying to complete a master's degree in education. Sorry. I sang under Margaret Norwood and Dr. Adrian Ketcham when I was young. Then, I went for graduate studies at USC and studied voice under Eugene Ferguson and Opera Workshop under Dr Donald Gray. Then, I moved to Atlanta and sang under Michael O'Neil, a protege conductor of Robert Shaw. Michael now has a huge mixed chorus in Marietta call The Michael O'Neil Singers (www.mosingers.org). That was a blast in his early years (1980's). I actually have one of his former singers in the Florence Men's Choral Society.
I sang in Masterworks the first year it was started in the late 1970's. Elaine Bishop and I sang a duet at our first concert. I love Elaine!
So, now I'm back in Florence and having a great time with my men's chorus and always looking for music that works for the an all male chorus. Are you teaching? We love to feature local musicians in our concerts. Maybe you could solo in the fall? Let me know if you would be interested. I want my concerts to feature local talent and spread the love and news of all the talent that is in this town. We are looking forward to performing in the Performing Arts Center when it is finished.
