The People's Choir, Yeovil is a new and exciting community choir formed especially for the people of Yeovil. The choice of music is carried out almost exclusively by the singers themselves, making the choir all about the people within it and all receive vocal coaching and singing training in a friendly and enjoyable rehearsal setting.
Our repertoire is currently full of a range of music from Africa, including rounds, chants and singing in Zulu and Xhosa; songs from the shows, such as Les Misérables and The Lion King; and contemporary and gospel music from over the years and around the world.
With the conductor's belief that anyone can sing (and has yet to be proved wrong!) there are no auditions. Just come along, learn to sing or have a musical social evening with us and get a taste of what Yeovil's community has to offer.
The choir is run by a small committee, but belongs entirely to its members. We guarantee that you will feel part of a warm and friendly atmosphere and look forward to having you with us: discover abilities that you never knew you had and find out just how easy it is to sing in a foreign language, too.
