Event Description
Taconic Opera, winner of the 2012 Arts Organization of the Year award in Westchester County, invites choral singers (adults and children) to participate in the company’s fall production of Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele, based on the story of Faust. This opera is rich in choruses, some of which have become part of the repertoire of many choral groups. Rehearsals will begin in June and will take place at the Church of Latter Day Saints, Route 134, Ossining, NY on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Interested singers can request an appointment for a friendly, easy audition at a convenient time for them. There are no fees to join the chorus, but members must secure their own music.
The opera performances are Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 27-28, 2012. For further information, contact Mary Corda: divamaryc@aol.com or call 914-649-1826.
