Featuring a soprano soloist, an outstanding trio of emerging virtuosi on piano, violin and clarinet,  and a world premiere.

 

Currently in its 22nd season and past recipient of the ArtsWestchester Arts Organization of the Year Award, Taconic Opera will be showcasing three exceptionally gifted instrumentalists in a challenging and beautiful concert program, Stars of Tomorrow. One performance only on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Mt. Kisco, 605 Millwood Road (Route 133), Mt. Kisco, NY. This ambitious program will include works by Ravel as well as the world premiere of a newly-commissioned piece composed by local composer and Taconic Opera Director, Dan Montez.  What a glorious way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

 

Pianist Kessa Mefford, whose career includes local, national and international recitals, is returning to delight with Ravel’s rarely performed and astounding suite for solo piano, Le Tambeau de Couperin, as well as with his famous Shéhérazade that will be also be sung by Taconic Opera soprano, Kristina Cook.  Together with Venezuelan violinist Laura Pereira del Rio, they will astound you with Ravel’s Violin Sonata No. 2.  Joining them will be Michelle Hromin, 1st Prize Winner of the Sidney Forrest Clarinet Competition.  Together they will treat you to the premiere of Red Sea Trio by local composer Dan Montez. 

 

Tickets for this event are $25 Advance Sale and $30 Door.  Senior discount: $5.  Student tickets are $12 Advance Sale and $15 Door.  Groups of 5 or more get an additional reduction of $5 per ticket.  Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.taconicopera.org, or by calling Taconic Opera’s toll-free number (855) 886-7372.
