Event Description
On the heels of their double win with the San Francisco Symphony at the 2010 Grammy Awards, the PACIFIC BOYCHOIR ACADEMY will perform Rachmaninoff’s Vespers, replicating the composer’s original choice of an 80-voice men’s and boys’ choir with boy altos. The first boys’ choir in America to present the piece with its original choral components, the PACIFIC BOYCHOIR will gather together the Bay Area’s finest choral tenors and basses to create one of the largest men’s and boys’ choirs ever to appear on the West coast. Also on the program is Sir John Tavener’s haunting Song for Athene. Performances will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, CA and Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, CA.
