Hudson Chorale Welcomes New Members in January

The Hudson Chorale - a newly-formed chorus resulting from the merger of the Westchester Concert Singers and the Choral Arts Society, two of the oldest choruses in Westchester County – is welcoming new members for the second half of its 2010-2011 season. Singers in all voice parts (S, A, T, B) are invited to join Westchester’s largest mixed-voice choral group in preparing for an exciting May 21, 2011, concert that includes some of the most celebrated choral works of the 20th century: Morten Lauridsen’s haunting and unforgettable Lux Aeterna, Ralph Vaughn Willams’s The Lark Ascending, and Arthur Bliss’s Pastoral. The chorus’s goal is to provide both audience members and singers with the best possible experience in choral singing; its repertoire will range from the great masterpieces to contemporary compositions. Singers looking for a new or additional choral family are encouraged to consider the Hudson Chorale.Michael Conley is the Music Director of the Hudson Chorale. Mr. Conley enjoys a multi-faceted career as a conductor, composer, pianist, organist and singer. In addition to serving as Music Director of the Hudson Chorale, Mr. Conley is the Music Director of the West Village Chorale and Judson Memorial Church in Manhattan, and is the Director of the High School Chorus at the Dalton School in New York City.Rehearsals for the upcoming season will begin on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm and will take place on Monday evenings in Scarborough, NY. “Singer-friendly” auditions will be held on Monday, January, 10, 2011.
