for St. Matthew Passion in Chicago

Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Civic Opera House, 20 North Wacker Drive, Chicago (stage door entrance at the corner of Washington and Wacker).
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking professional choristers who are flexible in styles and knowledgeable in languages. Experience in Baroque choral singing is preferred.
Please prepare an early music aria (early Baroque through Mozart). Please bring legible copies of your music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. You will also be asked to sing a choral excerpt from St. Matthew Passion, which will be distributed in advance to those chosen to audition. Sight-reading may also be required.

REHEARSAL PERIOD:
Rehearsals will begin on or around Saturday, April 2, 2011 culminating in a performance on April 20, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Lincoln Park. Rehearsals will primarily be held in the evening with some afternoon calls.
COMPENSATION:
Rehearsal hours will be paid at $30/hour with roughly 34 hours of rehearsal. There will be one performance paid at $150.
