Of all the MUSICA MUNDI series, the International Choir Competition and Festival in Budapest it’s the one with the longest tradition. Since the inaugural event in 1988, it’s been held every two years and features various categories, with or without compulsory pieces, in competitions conceived for choirs of all standards. Join us with your choir in Budapest and sing with us at encounter concerts in splendid halls and vibrant city squares in and around the Hungarian capital!
One of the festival’s special features is the chance to arrange and take part in church concerts and religious services in Budapest’s most famous churches. Regardless of whether you wish to take part in competition or festival only: it is the exchange with choirs from all over the world that makes this festival what it is. It also offers a unique opportunity to get to know the Hungarian tradition of choral singing by attending performances by Hungarian choirs.
